Reliable Online Businesses

There are literally thousands of types of online businesses which you can venture. However, not all those business models are reliable! In fact many of them are seriously flawed and misleading, affiliate marketing, for example. And most of the rumors, cited as ‘facts’, you hear about online businesses are either scams or just some kind of HYPE! Such hyped businesses are not the matter of this article. You can read about such businesses in my previous post. In this post, let me introduce yourself with the legitimate and reliable business models that perform well in the online world. After reading this article, you’ll be convinced why I claim that such models work while the hyped ones which I have discussed in previous post do not work.

Overhyped Online Businesses Which Don’t Work in Reality

Online world is full of opportunities, challenges and uncertainties. Taking the benefit of these three characteristic features, many online businesses have been ventured. Some of them do well whereas others are a blatant failure. However, because of the huge possibilities and uncertainties in the online world some marketers take the ‘benefit of doubt’ and claim that they have been successful in some kind of commission-based businesses, to lure others to join them and buy some of their products. Ultimately, they will reap the financial rewards resulting from referral commission or sales of their own products whereas their followers are ripped off.

Five Things to Consider in Selecting a BBA College

If you are planning to do a BBA course, especially from Nepal, you need to consider many things in mind before you join a program. In this post, I am going to describe five of the most important things, a prospective student has to consider while selecting a college to study BBA.

1. Which university is your prospective college affiliated to?

In Nepal, four universities provide BBA education: Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Pokhara University and Purbanchal University. If you have to choose among these four universities, Kathmandu University should be your first choice. The Tribhuwan University comes second in terms of popularity. However, in terms of curriculum content, both Tribhuvan and Pokhara universities are basically the same. I don't think there is much difference whether you study Tribhuvan university's BBA or Pokhara University's BBA. Either is fine. The BBA of Purbanchal University is not recommended, unless the college is good and other factors discussed below need to be considered.

NTC’s ADSL Vs WorldLink’s DSL Internet

NTC's ADSL VS WorldLink's DSL
In the bid to improve my internet connection experience, I recently switched my Internet Service Provider from NTC to WorldLink. I used NTC's ADSL Internet service for one whole year. However, when my ADSL Router got damaged by Lightening, I subscribed to WorldLink's DSL internet service and by now, it has already been three months since I started using it. So, I think it's the time now to review the WorldLink's internet service.

As opposed to ADSL, which is a more recent but sub-technology, WorldLink uses the broadband DSL (Digital Subscribers Line) technology to provide internet service to the people. It uses the wireless technology and therefore, you can also get a connection to the remote area, if the physical distance is appropriate. Also, its coverage (range) is a bit greater than that of the ADSL whose coverage is limited to the area within only 3 kilometers from the telecommunication office.

So, I recommend you to analyze the costs and benefits of each business in your locality before deciding upon which business to start.

Best Free Reading Apps for Galaxy Y

If you have bought a smartphone, one of your purpose is to read ebooks. However, for that purpose you need to install apps from Play Store. And since there are many ebook readers, choosing one among the crowd can be a real challenge. So, you need to learn a few things to make an informed judgement.

Below I am describing the best three ebook readers apps which are free to download and install.

1. Aldiko Book Reader

Utility of Galaxy Y for Me

Mobile phones have now become a multipurpose all in one device and even the low range smartphones running Android OS like my Galaxy Y are capable of doing a lot of things. In this post, I am going to tell you about how my Galaxy Y is becoming useful for me.

1. Using internet and emails

I am almost a heavy user of the internet and email like almost everyone these days. Earlier, when I didn't have this phone, I had to run my laptop even when I need to do trivial things such as checking for an email I was expecting. And whenever the internet connection got broken, I had no choice but to shut down the computer without completing my purpose. However, now I can just use my phone to do such tasks and whenever there is DNS problem with my internet connection, I have the option to use GPRS data.

I was lucky to get the phone exactly as shown below because it was the last piece left of its kind and others were totally either white or black.

Watch Youtube Videos Smoothly in Nepal!

There's good news for those who love watching videos  Youtube in Nepal. When you used to watch before, you had to wait for a long time for the videos to load. However, from now on you can watch it very smoothly, thanks to the launch of Google’s Server in Nepal.

According to the news, Google in collaboration with Nepal Telecom had installed its server in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, a few months ago. Probably, it has now been fully installed and the Youtube videos now play much faster than they would do previously. So, it’s big news for all of those who were wishing that they could watch videos in Youtube. If not anyone, I was desperately waiting for this change to happen because I have understood the importance of watching videos.

NTC or Ncell?

If you are planning to buy a new GSM SIM Card, you might be wondering which one to buy: NTC or Ncell? This post will help you decide the suitable alternative for you.

There are two major players in the mobile service market in Nepal: Ncell and NTC. Ncell is a Swedish telecom company whereas NTC, a shorthand for Nepal TelecomTM, is a Nepalese telecom company whose establishment history dates back to 1970 B.S.

Should I choose Nepal Telecom's ADSL?

ADSL Internet of NTC
(Image: NTC Website)
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is the broadband communication technology which provides high speed internet access over the conventional telephone lines. Nepal Telecom is the only company which provides this service in Nepal upto now.

Since the services like the internet depend upon various factors, I don’t recommend you which service is the best. However, I can help you choose the best one for you by providing as much details as I can about these services and what are the things you should consider while purchasing these types of services. Below I have written some facts which I experienced while using Nepal Telecom's ADSL Internet Service.

Scope of Agricultural Businesses in Nepal

Nepal is called an agricultural country as agriculture consists of a large portion of our Gross Domestic Product and it provides job to the largest portion of our population.

However, the scenario is changing as the young generation is being attracted towards the service related job at offices, restaurants, banks and so on. The new generation is gradually departing from the traditional occupation of farming. This changing scenario has a lot of implications and from the business perspective this has increased the scope of agriculture related business even more.

BBA Curriculum of Pokhara University - A Review

Well, it is still not a time for me to review my BBA curriculum. I mean, my review won't comprise all 8 semester courses of BBA in this review. Nonetheless, I cannot wait for two and half more years to express my feeling that are going on within me right now. Moreover, I believe that this review will closely approximate the overall course structure. Yet, I hope to review it once again at the end of my BBA program.

Writing a Resume!

One of the important aspects of our career is our ability to present ourselves before the employers. Those who can present themselves as a confident and capable candidate win the heart of the employers despite their actual potential. Therefore, presentation of one’s skills before others is more important than having the skill itself. Moreover, most of the jobs aren’t much difficult and you can gradually improve your working capabilities even after you are hired.

Prachanda Vs. Rajesh Hamal: Who is a better actor?

Seeing the multiple personalities of the chairman of Unified Communist Party Nepal (UCPN) Maoist, Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), I have run into a confusion about the best actor of Nepal. Until now, Superstar Rajesh Hamal is considered the king of Kollywood, i.e., Nepalese film industry. And although some people will disagree, many people have believed and still continue to believe him as the king of acting too.

Aspiring Bloggers - Diversify your portfolio in the beginning!

There's a popular adage in Economics, "Never put all your eggs in one basket". It simply means go for diversification. This rule is no exception to bloggers. If you are not being successful with blogging in one niche it is time for you to diversify your portfolio by entering into a new niche. See how things go on that niche and move on. If things go well, you've found out a good niche for yourself, however, if there is no improvement you should try another.

Economics - The most influential book I have ever read!

Principles of Economics by N. Gregory Mankiw, is the most influential book I have ever read in my life. During our second semester of BBA course, we had a subject 'Principles of Microeconomics', and in our third semester we have 'Principles of Macroeconomics'. 'Principles of Economics' is the combined book of these two sub-topics of Economics.

It was the university recommended textbook and therefore, it was easily available in our college library. As soon as I read the book for the first time, I liked it immediately. I still remember how much I was impressed by the book when I had read a few paragraphs of the first chapter "Ten Principles of Economics". I had borrowed the book, the very day.

UTL’s Unlimited Wireless Internet Service

I had used UTL’s unlimited wireless internet service (data plan) for 2 months and had discarded using it right away because it didn't work well. However, one of my friends had used it for quite a long time, in Kathmandu, and was happy with the performance. So, if you are planning to buy it then, learn more about its merits and demerits first to decide if this is the right option for you.

Here’s what I learnt after using it for two months and doing some research on why it didn't work for me.

Alternative to College - Online BBA Degree

Online BBA degree - An alternative to college!
Everyone may not like to go to college regularly. It's not that they hate education but simply feel that going to college wastes their time or it is difficult to schedule time between college and other activities. Online BBA Degree is the solution that is just in place for these kind of students who want to pursue their education in their own time.

Many students go for work, internship, entrepreneurship and so on after their high school education. As a result, they have to make a tough choice between education or work. Because both are quite important for a good career they might be willing to pursue both. However, because of the expectations of the college, clashing schedules, etc at times, they have to forsake one activity for the sake of another. However, this no longer remains a problem with the Online Degrees. Since BBA program is no exception, there's Online Degree on BBA too and you can opt for it to get the benefits of both worlds.

Why did I switch my faculty and choose BBA?

I was a science student during my +2 level education. I, actually, studied the GCE A Levels of Cambridge University, equivalent to +2 level, with the subject combination of General Paper, Physics, Computing and Mathematics. However, I later chose to study BBA, switching my faculty to management, during my undergraduate course of study. Why?

I took my decision partly because my aim changed, partly because I had few alternatives among which BBA was most feasible and supportive to my first and third reason, and partly because BBA sounded beautiful to me. This third reason is what I call a crazy reason to make a decision.

'Internet and Email' - My First Sem Computer Project Work

We had to complete a project work on a suitable topic of our choice on computing subject in the first semester.  I chose the easiest topic 'Internet and Email'. Although it isn't any special work, I did some extra job to make it better. Therefore, I am sharing it with you in this post.

Usefulness of this project work for you

If you are a BBA student just studying first semester from Pokhara University, then you would appreciate to view a sample project work on computing. That's the exact reason why I am sharing this with you here in my blog. My purpose is to make this blog resourceful for the BBA students and one of the ways of doing this is to share my works with you.

My First Presentation in BBA

Okay, while presentations are quite important (no, they are inevitable) in BBA, they are also the most feared tasks by the students because many students feel uncomfortable with giving a speech in front of a mass (i.e., public speaking).

Although, many students are reluctant to give presentations I am readily willing to participate in such an event or activity. My first presentation is an example of this. You might be eager to see how my first presentation was because I am so much optimistic about it. However, my first presentation wasn't much good especially the, slides made in Microsoft PowerPoint. Either way, I hope this will be interesting to you because, if you see my simple presentation then you might get tempted to make your own presentation (or not feel shy to present a simple presentation) because my first presentation wasn't that good and still I was very eager to present it in my class.
